A good flintlock blunderbuss pistol by Ketland, circa1790. Thirty and a half inches overall with a fifteen inch brass barrel flared at the muzzle. The figured walnut full stock with chequered grip and a finely carved apron. Brass mounts with the trigger guard tang made of black bone, which is an interesting extra. The side plate shows exceptionally fine work and inlayed into the stock. The brass three stage barrel shows London proofs and is stamped with Irish regulation marks. Excellent lock in full working order and signed Ketland.
