British Army Flintlock Musketoon

A very rare British military musketoon, circa 1790.

A  very rare British army musketoon, circa 1790. This very heavy 44 inch weapon with a 28 inch heavy gauge Damascus barrel with a 2.25 inch diameter flared muzzle. The full walnut stock with regulation brass mounts and steel ramrod. The lock is in very good condition and shows the Crown and GR stamp. The stock shows the initials BL, possibly the from the trooper using it. The size of this gun would require a man of immense strength just to hold it when fired as it would be the equivalent of firing a small cannon.
