Description
A very rare, flintlock, British officers pistol with detachable shoulder stock by John Collis of Oxford. Collis operated in Oxford between 1782- 1798 and was noted for making pistols for serving military officers. The pistol of 15 inches overall with a 10 inch octagonal sight barrel of .6 calibre. Full walnut stock with steel mounts, the lock with slide safety and roller frizzen is in working order. The detachable shoulder stock of 11 inches with working clip in and easy remove mechanism. The pistol shows ware as would be expected.
