Description
A rare, early English pistol made by Johnson, probably a provincial gunmaker of the time, late 17th early 18th century. Unusual for early pistols this has brass/ bronze mounts instead of the usual iron. Full carved walnut stock with a 13 inch three stage steel barrel, 19 inches overall. The round faced banana shaped lock, signed Johnson. There are various small repairs, minor wood loss and ware but the pistol is in general very good condition and working order considering it is over 300 years old.
