Description
A good Napoleonic war period volunteer Baker rifle by Whately, circa 1805. This standard regulation Baker of 46 inches with a 30 inch, .65 calibre, bore ( traces of rifling can be seen, the bore is pitted ) Regulation full walnut stock with brass mounts. The lock is signed Whately on the tail and the Crown GR in the centre. Good overall condition ( a small refixing at the forend of the stock ) , with a very nice tiger stripe walnut stock. Full working order.
