Description
A rare and important fine English rapier, circa 1650. This fine rapier would have once belonged to a very wealthy gentleman or cavalier. 45.25 inches overall with a diamond section 38.75 inch spear point blade. The blade tip formed to provide extra strength to pierce armour. The fine scroll basket with gilt mesh ( some losses and small restorations to the mesh ) and carved bone grip. Other than some small repairs and losses to the mesh basket the sword is in very fine condition.
