A good flintlock duelling pistol by J Probin, circa 1790. Probin ran his gun making business in Birmingham and London between 1770 to 1800 and was awarded gunmaker to the Prince of Wales. The pistol of 15 inches overall with a 9.5 inch sighted octagonal barrel of .60 bore, signed Probin. Figured full walnut stock with plain grip, steel mounts and original ramrod. The crisp lock is in full working order and signed J Probin. A nice early dueller.
