A substantial double barrel percussion overcoat pistol by Joseph Poulin, circa 1840. Ten inches overall with four and a half inch, .57 bore barrels. The heavy steel barrels have lost their finish and the name is still visible on the top flat though worn. The action still retains some case hardening and along with the trigger guard and butt cap are finely engraved. Heavy chequered walnut grip. Birmingham proofs. The action is in working order. This pistol has been used and carried a lot, but has been looked after. A good collectors piece.
