Description
A bronze, French naval officers flintlock blunderbuss pistol, circa 1790, Napoleonic period. This type of pistol could easily have been carried by a French officer during the battle of the Nile. 11 inches overall with a 5.5 inch flared barrel ( 1 inch at muzzle ), .75 bore. 3.25 inch flip bayonet, released by sliding trigger guard. Decorative hardwood grip with stylised fish scales and scallop shell terminals. Good working order and condition.
